Appeared on 4 cases in front of Judge Gregory in Summit County yesterday afternoon. A blood test DUI, an allegation of sexual contact case, a hate crime and obstruction case, and a domestic violence allegation case. Wide variety of charges all being handled professionally. Statement of witnesses were obtained by my office contradicting the sexual contact case and proving it was a case of lies and family drama. The DUI case did not have blood test results ready. My written motion to modify the protection order on the domestic violence case was granted by the judge to allow contact and return to the residence. And the hate crime was shown to be a simple disorderly conduct case and was resolved with probation and a small fine.

Just received an Order from Judge Romeo granting my motion to enforce an arbitration provision in a building contract. My client was the builder who I believe was wrongfully sued by an HOA to avoid payment. The Denver attorney was trying to use the Courts to make things more expensive, more time consuming and more risky for my client. This was a big victory towards justice.

Trial today in Breckenridge. Case dismissed against my client! This case is the perfect example of the interplay between criminal and civil cases. With this victory now my client will be able to force the other driver’s insurance company to pay for the damage to his vehicle and his personal injuries including a head injury and a laceration to his face that left a scar

Domestic Violence case dismissed!

DUI case from 6 years ago with a longstanding warrant. Moved to quash the warrant as soon as my office was hired and my client from Texas was able to appear remotely. Charges were reduced, but the judge wanted to sentence my client to 5 days jail due to the delay in answering the warrant. Thinking quickly on the fly, we had the sentencing continued to a new date to give me time to address the issue of jail in more detail. After consulting with my client I drafted and submitted a detailed Sentencing Memorandum. Then at yesterday’s sentencing hearing we were able to convince the judge to sentence my client to the minimum fine, etc with NO jail.

2 cases in Leadville yesterday. A highly disputed Civil Restraining Order request where I was able to get my client back into his home. Also a domestic that was resolved with a very favorable result despite the victim’s emotional pleas. Definitely a day of effective advocacy overcoming courtroom drama!
